The Equality Act 2010: What Will It Change?

This course looks at changes made to existing law by the Equality Act 2010. The majority of the Act will come into effect in October 2010.
Who should attend? - Anyone involved in advising, advocating on or researching equality issues
Course Context
The training looks at changes made to the law in relation to:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender Reassignment
- Marriage and civil partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race
- Religion or belief
- Sex
- Sexual Orientation
and considers changes made in relation to
- Employment
- Goods and services
- Transport
- Premises
Outcome for attendees:
- An understanding of existing discrimination law in relation to employment, goods and services, transport and premises
- In depth knowledge of changes made by the Equality Act 2010
- Ability to advise on changes when they come into effect in October 2010
- Understanding of current advantages/ weaknesses of our equality legislation
