Supporting people facing discrimination at work

This is an advanced course for people involved in supporting disabled people at or into work. You will learn how to apply the key provisions of the Equality Act and how to advise and help people when they are having difficulties at work, including disciplinary and grievance procedures. You will also look at how disputes can be resolved through negotiation and compromise or at the Employment Tribunal. You will also be able to explore how the Employment Tribunal process works, and key things to think about if taking a case at the Tribunal.
In particular the course will include

- - Reasonable adjustments – case law and considerations
- - Supporting people through the grievance and disciplinary process
- - Negotiated settlements (including judicial mediation/ ACAS) and compromise agreements
- - Using the Employment Tribunal
