Highest Level of DLA Awarded
A severely traumatized Kurdish Iraqi who was tortured in one of Saddam Hussein’s prisons was awarded the highest level of both components of the Disability Living Allowance, following representation at Tribunal by the Disability Law Service.
Our client had been refused all DLA on the basis of a poorly completed Claim Form and on the advice of an in-house Doctor at the Department of Work and Pensions, who had never met him. Hopefully the award will make a considerable difference to his condition.
