Outreach and Development
At DLS we want to work closely with other organisations and partner organisations to provide the best possible service for all disabled people.
Our development team are leading a number of projects that make a significant contribution to disabled people:
- DLS Englandwide is DLS' new programme of national development, a five-year project that will improve the access to high-quality specialist legal advice for disabled people, their families and carers. The project will reach across every region of England. If you work for an organisation that represents disabled peole and want to get involved click here.
- The London Project funded by London Councils has developed a strong network of groups and organisations across London who work with disabled people from all communities.
We take a “needs led” approach to our outreach services, and our outreach activities over the past four years have included:
- Outreach advice surgeries.
- Talks to service users about our service and about their rights and entitlements.
- Talks to professionals about our service, and about changes to the law.
- Information stands at both community and specialist disability events.
- Facilitating workshops on disability and equalities topics.
